A Special Talk about London's Air Ambulance Service

Dr Ben Singer works as a surgeon for London Air Ambulance’s advanced trauma team.  He visited both Houses to tell the girls all about the wonderful work of this charity.  They enjoyed listening to his talk and asking lots of questions.

He told the girls that it takes under 7 minutes for the helicopter to reach people in need within the greater London area.   On average the helicopter is called out to about 2000 incidents every year.  School playgrounds are often used as a landing pad but the strangest place a helicopter has ever had to land is in a camel farm where there were some very angry ostriches!
