Puppet Making at Spencer House

Co-curricular

27.02.2023

Enrichment Week saw the girls make puppets themed around an aboriginal creation myth, culminating in a show performed to parents.

It was Enrichment Week at Spencer House last week and the girls took part in puppet making workshops with Creation Myth Puppets.

The workshops were themed around the story The Rainbow Serpent, an aboriginal creation myth that tells how the rainbow serpent sings the creatures of the dreamworld into existence. The girls made puppets of the beasts of the outback, which featured in a show performed at the end of the week, by the girls and their puppets.

There were plenty of opportunities for creativity, storytelling, and confidence building performances!

Creation Myth are creating a book of many of the puppets that they make, which can be pre-ordered here.
