A Soldier tells his Story

Year 5 girls, honouring the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1, had a very special visitor recently.  Colonel Ben, a distinguished ex -soldier who has been on many campaigns, came in to talk to the girls about what life is really like as a soldier in the army.  He showed them his beret and medals and gave a fascinating insight into what it would have been like during WW1 compared to modern warfare.  The girls were enthralled and have been inspired to do some wonderful classwork as a result.
