Exploring Nature leads to a Surprise!

Year 1 Girls are exploring the riverbank this term, as part of their creative curriculum work.  They went into Cannizaro Park recently to explore the plants, and look at the pond there to see what they could discover.  They learnt about the different environments of creatures living near water and how one might need to look after them.  They came back to school and discovered that a blue Bog Baby had appeared in the classroom!  The girls then designed and made different environments for their very own Bog Babies, and they’re are all now living very comfortable in the classroom.

The girls also went to the London Wetlands Centre at Barnes to further explore wildlife that lives in and around rivers and ponds.  They had a fascinating day investigating the environment and pictures of the trip will be posted here soon!
