Reception Girls go Wild!

What an exciting day! Reception girls arrived at school ready to make final preparations for their Campfire Party. The girls have been working hard all term learning the skills needed to live in the wild like the Wild Child from the story book by Jeanne Willis and Lorna Freytag. As part of their creative topic “Into the Woods” the girls have learnt to build dens, grow their own food and make their own woodland costumes and jewellery. Today they celebrated becoming a fully-fledged Wild Child. They wore their costumes and bought in a woodland themed lunch with a wonderful variety of creative food! They sat around the campfire singing traditional campfire songs, all in their socially distanced “bubbles” of course! And what a lovely surprise when the real Wild Child arrived! The rain did not deter her and it was a magical and memorable event.
