The Born Free Foundation visits Wilberforce House

Anne Tudor from The Born Free Foundation came in to talk to the Wilberforce House girls about the wonderful and important work the foundation does promoting animal conservation and welfare and ensuring that wildlife is kept in the wild.  She explained to the girls how she has just come back from a trip to Africa where she released an adult male lion, Simba, into a reserve in Malawi.  It was the first time in nine years that Simba had felt the fresh grass under his feet and the warm African sun on his back.  The girls were fascinated to hear all about the other animals, including giraffes, rhinos, tigers and even tortoises that have been assisted by The Born Free Foundation.

A very special visitor also arrived to say hello to the children and to hand out stickers.  Mr Roary the Lion made an appearance to the delight of the girls and you can see him having a lovely time in these pictures!  With many thanks to Anne Tudor and everyone at The Born Free Foundation, we are very proud to be supporting the charity this term.
