Music and Dance for a Local Cause

A wonderful evening of music and dance took place at St John’s Church on Spencer Hill this weekend, as our girls performed beautifully for the audience at the church’s Community Concert.

Well done to the Year 3 Creative Dance Club, Year 4 instrumentalist Isabella J, and Miss Yasmin who helped to raise over £1000, primarily for Faith in Action at this charity event showcasing other local schools, churches and musical organisations.

The Year 3 girls wore lots of sequins and glitter to dance to George Gershwin's "I Got Rhythm", accompanied by Isabella J on violin and Mrs Brown on piano. Miss Yasmin choreographed a jaunty routine replete with leg kicks and jazz hands.

Other local organisations were involved, including Bishop Gilpin School, St John's Church Singers, the Trinity URC Band, Merton Music Foundation musicians.

Faith in Action is a local charity to support Merton homelessness, providing showers, shelter, food and aid to those in need. (www.mertonfaithinaction.org)
