Gold for Year 5 at Downsend Tournament

The Year 5A team went to Downsend on Saturday to play in a Rounders tournament, there were  five  schools in total, Downsend, Halstead, Hawthorns, St Georges and The Study. The girls started off extremely well playing Halstead and winning 10-4 – the girls’ fielding was excellent and they communicated extremely well with each other effectively  preventing  the opposition from scoring. The girls went onto win the next two  games against Downsend and St George’s. The final game was against Hawthorns, they had some big hitters who were scoring lots of rounders,  however The Study girls kept focused and they ended up drawing their last game.

The girls played extremely well and came home with a Gold medal after winning the tournament. Well done girls.
