Reading to local care home

Iona and Alyssa read extracts from The Twits for residents to enjoy.

On World Book Day last week Year 6 pupils were invited to take part in a Zoom session, along with four other local schools, to read to residents of Queen's Court in Wimbledon.

Iona and Alyssa represented the school and chose to read an extract from Roald Dahl's The Twits, their favourite book. It was greatly enjoyed and our girls were chosen, out of all schools participating, to receive five books as a reward for the school library. They will sit proudly on our library shelves.

After so many months with restrictions on visits to the home we can only imagine the difference that this thoughtful interaction made.

Our Happiness value in action – well done Iona and Alyssa!
