Year 1 Enjoy a Royal Outing!

As part of their topic on Castles, Princesses and Knights, Year 1 had a fantastic outing to Bodiam Castle, a 14th-century moated castle near Robertsbridge in East Sussex. It was built in 1385 by Sir Edward Dalyngrigge, a former knight of Edward III, and the girls had a wonderful day learning about how life was during these times. They saw and tried on some real armour and chainmail, made some medieval herbal remedies (and even saw some leeches!) and heard all about how life was all that time ago.

The trip brought to life all the work the girls have been doing in class on this fascinating topic and time period in history, and they all had a fantastic day out!
