Open Morning at The Study

Community

04.10.2022

Last weekend we were delighted to welcome prospective families to The Study for our annual Open Morning.

The Study was bustling with visitors last weekend as we opened our doors for our annual Open Morning. We are delighted that visiting families got a sense of the warm and welcoming community that makes our school so special.

The whole school turned out for this important event in our annual calendar. Mrs Lowe led talks in our new Performing Arts Hall and all of our teaching departments, from Reception and Early Years through to Sport, Music and Drama were on hand to answer parents’ questions.

Our catering team provided exceptional refreshments and both of our houses, Wilberforce (where our Reception to Year 3 girls are based) and Spencer (where our Year 3 to 6 girls are based), were involved in the proceedings with a shuttle bus ferrying families the short distance between our sites across Wimbledon Common.

Year 5 and 6 volunteers did a wonderful job of showing visiting families the highlights of the school, including some of our talented musicians who performed for the occasion. There’s no question that Study girls are our best ambassadors.  Our little visitors were able to enjoy a Study bear hunt too, collecting stickers from classrooms and taking home a special Study bear at the end of the morning.

Study alumni, who are continuing their senior school education at schools including Wimbledon High, Surbiton High and Epsom College joined us for the morning to talk about their Study days and the breadth of exceptional senior schools that our girls move onto. Ms Wingrove was also able to share her unique experience as a teacher who used to be a Study girl too!

It has been lovely to receive glowing feedback from families about their visit to the school.

“We just wanted to thank you and everyone else for such a nice Open Morning at The Study. It was clear how much effort had been put into welcoming us, and the school itself, the teachers and former pupils were all so very lovely. We’ll be in touch about enrolling our daughter when the time comes. She’s only one so we still have some time to go!”

Prospective parent

“I would like to say a very big thank you for our tour this morning!  It was super meeting you and we really enjoyed the opportunity to see and experience your wonderful school.  We immediately felt so at home and feel that this would be the perfect environment for our daughter!”

Prospective parent

“Thank you for the wonderful morning. It was well organised and very informative. Please pass on our gratitude to Mrs Lowe and all the staff and pupils that helped out. It was good to know more about The Study and to have been able to speak to various personnel about different aspects of the school. The twins certainly enjoyed themselves very much as well!”
