Mary’s Meals Talk in Assembly
Sara Sarpi, a volunteer from Mary’s Meals, came to talk to the girls and staff about the charity and to thank us for the money we have raised so far. Mary’s Meals believes every child deserves an education and enough to eat and with this in mind they provide hungry children in many countries around the world with a school meal daily. It costs just £13.90 to feed a child for a year.
The girls did a fantastic job creating different designs on paper plates, and everyone who took part were given a thank you certificate and Sara had the very difficult task of choosing a winner from each Year Group. The creative paper plate challenge raised £408.80.
We are also excited to be supporting the Backpack Project. Many children receiving Mary’s Meals don’t have basic learning tools such as pencils and notepads. We can support them by donating a backpack full of the things they need for school. Read all about the great work Mary's Meals does on the website: https://www.marysmeals.org.uk
