Space Age Seeds!
Plants from Out of this World!
On 2 September 2015, two kilograms of plant seeds travelled on the Soyuz44S rocket to the International Space Station. The seeds were stored by Tim Peake, the first British ESA astronaut, before their return to earth. Girls at The Study received one red and one blue packet of seeds, one that travelled to space and one that didn’t. The girls have now planted the seeds side by side to see whether there will be any marked differences in their growth over a period of 35 days. They will mark their observations on a special Measurement Chart, the results of which will be added to a national database. Watch this space!
