Celebrating 123 Years of Success!

Happy Birthday to The Study!

Land girls, evacuees and even a few glamorous Forties screen sirens were spotted at The Study as girls dressed up to celebrate the school’s 1940’s themed birthday party.  The Study celebrated its 123rd year since its founding in 1893, and the girls from the two sites came together in the Wilberforce House playground to enjoy a fantastic party. Our friends from The Norwegian School in Wimbledon also came to join in the celebrations, and we were very happy to welcome them.

A wartime themed girl band, “Femmes from the Forties”, performed old time swing and jazz numbers which ensured a festive atmosphere and the girls enjoyed a wartime themed lunch and delicious ice creams!  As per long held tradition, the youngest  (Jasmine in Reception Yellow) and oldest (Caroline in 6M)  girls at The Study helped Mrs Pepper and Miss Gay cut the celebratory cake, which was beautifully created, along with cupcakes for all the girls, by our very own Mrs Gonzales.  It was a wonderful and joyful event and many thanks to the staff that arranged it and to all the girls from coming in so beautifully dressed in their Forties finery!
