Year 2 Enjoy a Creative Art Workshop

Year 2 girls are exploring London through their current creative curriculum topic, “I Love London!”  They certainly got their creative juices flowing when artist Maureen Wells kindly came in to work with the girls on producing some beautiful artworks of London landmark buildings.  The girls worked on their pieces in four stages; first selecting a famous building and loosely sketching it in pencil, then in filling key areas with grey wash to create dark and light tonal values, before adding green or brown ink to add interest.  Finally, the young artists used a stick dipped in black ink to define and outline the drawings.  The end results are fantastic as you can see from the pictures below.  It was a very enjoyable workshop which helped the girls understand painting techniques and to create some stunning results.
