Wimbledon Bookfest Outings

Years 1 and 2 had a very enjoyable time earlier this week walking across the common in the Autumn sunshine and then listening to Debi Gilori in the big tent on Wimbledon Common. She explained how she got the inspiration for creating her stories and read a passage from her latest book, Dragon Loves Penguin. She explained the process for designing her illustrations and the girls are now experts at drawing penguins!

It was the turn of Year 6 to enjoy a literary outing yesterday when all the girls went to see acclaimed award winning novelist, John Boyne.   Renowned for his poignant novel, The Boy with The Striped Pyjamas, he spoke about this and his other works as well as telling the girls all about his latest novel, Stay Where You Are and Then Leave.

The Study is proud to support Wimbledon Bookfest and our girls are fortunate to have the opportunity to see such wonderful authors, who inspire them and fire their imaginations.
