Year 1 Stunning Start!

On Wednesday a Victorian doll appeared in the Year 1 classroom, with a magic golden key, a tin bucket and a wooden spade! Her name is Molly, the time travelling doll. Yesterday she took the girls back in time to find out what it was like to be a child in Victorian times.

In the morning the girls made train tickets which they used in the afternoon to travel on a train to Wimbledon Seaside! Each girl had 12 old pennies to spend. The girls made souvenirs and learnt how to be waitresses in the seaside cafe. For lunch they had a delicious meal of fish and chips. In the afternoon they listened to stories, took turns role playing different jobs and played games like roll a penny. At the end of the day the girls were treated to a Punch and Judy show which they thoroughly enjoyed!

It was a lovely day at the seaside and we made it back at the end of the day in time for pick-up!
