Year 2 Enjoy the Glory of Kew Gardens

Year 2 enjoyed a fantastic outing last week at the wonderful Kew Gardens, which houses the world’s largest collection of living plants and is a UNESCO World heritage site. Founded in 1840, its living collections include more than 30,000 different kinds of plants, while the herbarium, which is one of the largest in the world, has over seven million preserved plant specimens. The Year 2 girls had a great time exploring the gardens, and especially enjoyed the tropical wonderland of the Palm House, and saw the giant waterlilies, bamboos, palms and other exotic varieties before examining plant specimens under microscopes during their workshop.  It was a fascinating and educational day for all the girls.
