A Bearded Dragon visits Year 1.

Not only did a dragon hatch from its egg in a Year 1 classroom this week but a real life bearded dragon came to visit too!

Year 2 have been learning about dragons as part of their 'Turrets and Tiara' theme this term. Like a dragon, a bearded dragon is equipped with an armour of spiny reptilian scales, which include a 'beard' of spikes under its chin that puffs up depending on its mood.

The girls were excited to hold the dragon and they learnt about its unique anatomy and its habitat in the desert.
