Reception girls were very lucky to welcome a special visitor to tell them all about the Chinese new year. Mrs Gilligan kindly came to talk to the girls about the ancient Chinese calendar, and to explain the meaning and symbolism behind the tradition. She explained that 2014 is the year of the Horse, and the girls enjoyed listening to how this all came about.
