Cheerleading Club: trying something different, having fun and learning new skills!

Miss Sear and her Cheerleading Club members entertained the girls in a Spencer House Assembly. She began by giving us some very interesting background to the ‘sport’, while the Year 4 members demonstrated some tricky movements and the Year 5 members then performed a routine.  We were all extremely impressed by the amazing achievement of the girls, especially as they had only had half a term’s preparation!  We found out there is far more to cheerleading than a group of girls standing on the touch line, chanting some lines, looking pretty in crop-tops and doing routines with pom-poms!  Modern cheerleading is about strength, flexibility and teamwork which our Study Stars demonstrated extremely effectively!
