Charitable Giving this Term

After the Year 6 girls prepared and presented their talks on their chosen charities, the school voted to support two charities this term:

The first is World Animal Protection, nominated by Anke King, Freddie Parkes and Willa Straus, which aims to do as its name suggests: protecting the world’ animals.

The second charity the school will be supporting this term was nominated by Jaya Bhuchar. Jigsaw4U supports children and young people through trauma, loss and bereavement.

Well done to all the girls who put together such moving and heartfelt presentations.  This week the girls will do their presentations in assemblies at both Wilberforce and Spencer Houses to further promote the good works of both organisations.

You may find out more about these charities by visiting their websites at:

Well done to Year 5 who arranged a very successful Book and Cake sale for charity.  The money raised, a splendid £345.16, will be going to help the Nepal earthquake appeal through the charitable organisation, The Cairn Trust.   www.cairntrust.org

Money raised will go directly to those people in need in the affected region; to the rebuilding of their homes and lives including getting water supplies up and running and the clearing of roads so that international aid and essential supplies can get through to the villages most in need.
