Reception Girls Explore Antarctica

The Creative Curriculum in Reception this term is “Out of the Egg”, and the girls have enjoyed a wintery adventure where they discovered a mysterious looking egg and looked after it, keeping it warm, safe and dry to ensure that it would hatch.  It certainly did hatch, and when the girls came back to school after their weekend, they saw, to their amazement, some penguin footsteps that led them from the classrooms to the playground, where they discovered some fluffy penguins!  The girls know that they have to make the penguins feel at home, so the Reception shared play area has been transformed into Antarctica, complete with icebergs and snowdrifts, to make the chicks feel comfortable!
