Year 1 Girls Go Back in Time

Today was a very exciting day for the Year 1 girls who, dressed in the finest Victorian clothes, set about experiencing lots of fun activities giving them a taste of what the festive season may have looked like in the Victorian era.  They made oranges pierced with cloves for a fragrant festive treat, Christmas crackers and handmade Christmas stockings.  They also played some traditional parlour games including Pass the Parcel, the Laughing Game and Blind Man’s Candy cane.  It was a wonderful afternoon which ended with the girls enjoying a delicious treat of gingerbread and hot chocolate in front of the fireplace!
