Fascinating Workshop at Wimbledon High

On Wednesday 8th May six Year 5 girls were invited to compete in the IET Faraday Challenge at Wimbledon High School.  This year’s challenge was to design and build a prototype transport system to get a lighthouse keeper from a lighthouse to land during a storm. The girls had to consider what materials and mechanisms were needed in their chosen design, as they were building it themselves. They had a number of criteria to meet, including making sure they had an electric circuit in their designs! They also had to consider costs as they had a strict budget to adhere to.  At the end of the day they demonstrated their designs and presented to the group explaining the reasoning behind each of the choices they had made throughout the day. It was a fascinating workshop for the girls, and we extend our thanks to the team at Wimbledon High School!
