Nestled within the leafy serenity of Wimbledon Common, Wilberforce House is The Study’s bright and airy purpose built school for our younger girls between Reception and Year 3.
Welcoming, warm, and bursting with colour and fun, Wilberforce House encourages even the most nervous little girls to feel at home and to relax within the light filled classrooms which surround the large central hall and Reception indoor play area. The well-equipped classrooms all include interactive whiteboards, computers and a bank of i-Pads for the girls to learn ICT skills from a very early age. The well-stocked library is used by all the girls, and has a comfortable and relaxed ambience to encourage reading and quiet contemplation. The playground incorporates a full size netball court as well as plenty of bright and colourful play equipment, grassy areas, and a friendship bench for girls who may find themselves without a playmate. The Year 3 girls enjoy their own garden, complete with fish pond and wooden benches to sit at whilst enjoying their breaks on sunny days.
Wilberforce House is currently undergoing an ambitious redevelopment project, which will include a new Performing Arts space, six new classrooms, a library and a new entrance for visitors.
Every effort is made to help the Reception girls to settle in quickly and happily, and this sense of belonging and happiness follows the girls when they move up to Year 4 at The Study’s second site, Spencer House.
