Trips & Workshops
Hardly a week goes by at The Study without a special event, workshop, school trip or outing for the girls to look forward to and enjoy. The trips off site are carefully selected so that the girls are learning in a practical and interactive way new facts and skills that help them gain a deeper understanding of the academic subjects. Trips to farms and wildlife centres underscore scientific learning and discovery, outings to art galleries enrich artistic and cultural understanding, choir trips to sing at world renowned venues such as York Minster, The Royal Albert Hall and the Menin Gate are all unforgettable experiences. Local sites are not forgotten, from teddy bear hunts on Wimbledon Common to trips to learn all about the tennis at the AELTC, the school ensures a rich and diverse programme each year for all age groups.
In addition, there are two residential trips, one for the Year 4 group, and another for the Year 6 girls in their final summer term. More recently we have introduced a French and Music trip to Northern France for the Year 5 girls, and they are able to practise their language skills as well as perform to local audiences. These trips promote teamwork, cement friendships, and enhance independence and confidence in our girls.
We also love to open up our school to visitors - from best-selling children’s book authors, vibrant interactive puppet shows, Shakespearian theatre workshops, groups who re-enact the Roman Empire that brings history to life, to renowned practising artists who work with the girls on their art – the wealth and breadth of learning through experience is remarkable at The Study.
