A Welcome Message from our new Head
Miss Vicky Ellis, BSc (Hons), QTS, MA.
I am delighted to be taking over the headship of The Study and being part of this special school community, continuing to develop the school whilst retaining its unique ethos. I hope the website gives you a taste of our exceptional school and that you will find the information that you require. For our existing parents, you will find all the letters, detailed term dates, and other information relevant to you in your secure Parents' Area.
Our two beautiful school buildings nestle in the heart of Wimbledon Common and Village. The breadth of academic achievement, the wealth of creative opportunities and most of all our happy, stimulated girls define The Study as one of the leading prep schools for girls in South West London. We pride ourselves on our reputation for academic and creative excellence and for nurturing well-rounded, confident, caring girls with a love of learning, a broad outlook, traditional values and a real zest for life. Our girls go on to leading senior schools, and 2020 has been another very successful year for our Year 6 girls, with no less than 40 scholarships offered to them by leading senior schools (see PDF Chart below). This beats our previous record of 39 scholarships in 2018.
Do take a look at my welcome video, which will give you a feel of what The Study is about. The school celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2018, and we are justly proud of our rich history. We have recently completed our ambitious development project at Wilberforce House, which has given us six new classrooms, a new visitors' area, a beautiful library, and a large performing arts space. Read our latest news to see photos of the new space and to take a virtual tour.
Finally, as much as our website will give you a good overview of who we are, nothing can compare to coming along and seeing for yourself all the elements that make The Study Preparatory School such a unique and special place. We warmly invite you to come and meet with us, have a look around the school on a normal busy day, and discuss how we can bring out the very best in your daughter.
We look forward to welcoming you.
