Year 4 Visit Butser Ancient Farm

The girls are transported to prehistoric times.

Year 4 were full of enthusiasm when they visited Butser Ancient Farm, a working museum in the South Downs National Park. The experimental archaeological site recreates and experiments with housing, tools and techniques from the Stone Age, Iron age and Roman times in Britain.

As soon as the girls arrived they found themselves transported to prehistoric times. They were astounded by the ram’s skull placed above the entrance to the village. They took part in a variety of activities from jewellery making to spinning a yarn. The sun even decided to make an appearance!

The trip was a wonderful way to bring their Celts and the Romans humanities topics to life.
