Targeted TeachingTeaching across a broad ability range is a specialised skill. Few girls fall neatly into categories of ability. All will have their own areas of strength.
As teachers, a vital part of our mission is to help the girls discover these individual strengths that are so important in building their confidence and general academic self-belief. All our girls undergo a formal screening in Year 1 and regular diagnostic assessment throughout the school to help inform their teachers' own knowledge of each child.
We provide targeted teaching in the classroom to ensure that all girls are challenged to the best of their ability. Older girls are taught in sets for maths and English.
Our learning support co-ordinator and a team of peripatetic learning support tutors work with girls who have specific learning needs on an individual basis or in small groups.
At The Study, our aim is that no girl is held back and none are left behind.
