About Us
The Study is a long established, independent preparatory school for girls aged four to eleven, situated on two sites near leafy Wimbledon Common.
The School has a strong reputation as a specialist in educating young girls and preparing them for some of the best senior schools in the country. As such, we attract pupils not just from the local Wimbledon area but more broadly across South West London and Surrey, including Wandsworth, Putney, Kingston, Barnes and Roehampton.
Entry at Reception is by ballot, as we believe that it is very difficult to assess future potential at such an early age. We take pride in the fact that our girls are offered places and scholarships at some of the best senior schools in the country at 11+, and that our highly trained staff teach creatively, are passionate about their subjects, and keep up with curriculum developments and new technologies. Occasional places are also offered in other year groups and are allocated on the basis of assessment and interview.
The Study is a busy and stimulating environment where learning is enhanced by an extensive programme of extra curricular activities, workshops and trips, with opportunities to support the local community as well as charitable causes close to the girls’ hearts. Our academic, sporting and creative successes, many at national level, are impressive, but what we take most pride in are our girls – compassionate, happy, well-rounded and confident - who will take with them long lasting friendships and a wealth of happy memories from their time with us.
