Key Stage 2

Girls enter the Prep Department at Year 3, although they are still housed at Wilberforce House. Years 4, 5 and 6 are at Spencer House, which has a larger range of specialist rooms. Their day becomes more formally structured and more subjects are taught by specialist staff. The core subjects of English and Maths are taught in smaller groups. French is started in Year 3. Formal homework and twice-yearly evaluation tests also start from Year 3.

Throughout the school, girls are taken on day trips related to their studies. Years 4 and 6 go on residential field trips as part of their environmental science course.

We have a special needs co-ordinator and peripatetic specialist tutors working with children who have specific learning difficulties.

The seven years we offer at The Study provide a good span of education, which allows girls to grow in confidence and ability, while enjoying their school life. By the age of eleven they are well prepared to cope with competitive entrance examinations and interviews. Study girls are noted for their positive and cheerful attitude to life and for their organisational and inter-personal skills.
