Head's IntroductionWe specialise in teaching young girls.
We strongly support the widely held view that girls and boys learn and develop at different rates and in different ways, and that girls are most likely to flourish in a dedicated environment.
As specialists in teaching girls, we know just how important it is that their first experiences of full-time education are happy and fulfilling. We want them to leave us with many happy memories and new interests, a lifelong love of learning, and the confidence to thrive in their chosen senior schools.
Here at The Study, we understand young girls. We know how to engage and inspire them, in and out of the classroom. We know how to discover and nurture their individual talents.
Our aim is for every girl to discover the very best that is within her.
The school is on two sites. Wilberforce House offers a modern, warm and nurturing environment especially for our younger girls. Spencer House gives our older girls experience of the more formal learning environment that they will encounter when they move on from us, and is a short and pleasant walk across Wimbledon Common. Both are happy, welcoming places festooned with the children's work.
We choose to be non-selective at Reception class entry. Four year old girls have many latent talents and we believe that at this young age it is impossible to assess accurately their future potential in all areas.
All our girls enjoy all of our expertise and it is our special reward to watch them grow in confidence and ability, and gain places in some of the best senior schools in the country.
We are very proud of them all.
We hope that you will visit The Study, talk to our girls and their teachers and get some sense of the special atmosphere that they create together.
Mrs Joyce Nicol
